If you’ve worked for a technology company in the past ten or so years, then you (along with everyone else in the entire company) have probably received some sort of branded holiday gift with your company logo slapped on it. “Is that your mug or my mug?” *You ask your coworker sitting next to you.*

There is a time and place for branded company swag gifts, like onboarding new hires, promotion gifts, swag as rewards for internal competitions, or celebrating a significant company milestone. They’re already getting branded items year-round, the holiday season is an opportunity to switch it up and provide a unique experience.

It’s not thoughtful

A thoughtful gift is when the giver considers all the things that define the receiver and chooses a gift based on their interests, hobbies, or qualities.
